We get a lot of questions about The Goblin Market each year. We do understand that it is a unique event, so we’re going to do our best to help answer some common questions you have sent us over the years.
- What is The Goblin Market exactly?
- Can I purchase tickets at the door?
- Is parking free?
- Why is it 16 and over only?
- Do I have to dress up to attend? If I wanted to dress up, what should I wear?
- Is The Goblin Market indoors or outdoors?
- What if I don’t want a goblin to talk to me? OR What if my partner doesn’t want a goblin talking to them?
What is The Goblin Market exactly?
The Goblin Market produced by Time Travel Events is a themed vendor market featuring real vendors, musicians, artists, and REAL goblins. These goblins have revealed themselves and are eager to experience being human for just one night. As a participant, you are the humans in this unique event. Some vendors may be disguised as goblins, or perhaps they are goblins disguised as vendors – the truth remains elusive. Additionally, there are humans who astutely deceive the goblins through trades. This market offers an immersive experience that lingers in your memory, even long after you have left.
Can I purchase tickets at the door?
Yes. Tickets are available online, and then when that closes you can purchase them at the door for $20/each. We accept cash, card, or even online payments such as Venmo, Cash, or Paypal.
Is parking free?
Yes, parking is free.
Why is it 16 and over only?
The Goblin Market is an event for individuals aged 16 and over. While the show itself does not contain explicit content or nudity, the goblins are not portrayed in a perverse manner. Some of the content may be considered PG-13. We feature vendors who may choose to showcase spicy art or use colorful language. The event features music, dancing, laughter, talking, goblins, vibrant colors, and a lot of movement, which can be overwhelming for young children and even some adults. The content at the Goblin Market may be too mature for younger teens, so it is best to adhere to the age limit.
Do I have to dress up to attend? If I wanted to dress up, what should I wear?
There is no dress code to attend. We’ve had some humans dress as mushrooms, historical characters, fictional characters, or even fairies. Some dress up fancy, some dress casual, and some have attended straight from work in their uniform. All that matters is your comfort. Goblins love humans and admire them.
We have often told people, “Have you got something in the closet that you’ve kept for years hoping to wear it someday or to some event? Now’s the time.”
Is The Goblin Market indoors or outdoors?
Every Goblin Market is primarily indoors. We do have a large tent outdoors that has “walls” for extra weather protection. Food trucks are outside, and the tables and chairs for eating are located under the tent.
What if I don’t want a goblin to talk to me? OR What if my partner doesn’t want a goblin talking to them?
We understand that not everyone wants goblin interaction or maybe the goblin interaction is too overwhelming, so for these instances we have introduced GOBLINBANE. It is a special sticker the human wears to become invisible to the goblin. If the human does choose to interact with a goblin, the goblin whispers softly just in case the human is not real and the goblin is talking to thin air.
Goblinbane can be removed at anytime to have a full Goblin Market experience. These stickers are available at registration through-out the evening.
The sticker looks like this:
